Trends 2022

It’s officially the New Year of 2022, and with that comes the world-wide wonder of what is going to be the most trendy this year. You cannot say for sure what will be trendy, without looking into the interior design trends, so we are here to help you look at a little bit of both! Here are some of our ideas:

1:

Mixing textures: for example, placing pillows with leather covers on a couch upholstered with velvet fabric! Or using the same coloured fabric from different materials, for example mixing woven fabrics with velvet fabrics! These contrasting textures make sure that even if your interior is focused on a monochrome colour scheme, it will look more interesting and it will make the space look more luxurious. There are many, many different combinations of textures you can work with. Whether it be velvet and leather, or velvet and woven, or even cotton and leather! Make it your own and have fun with matching them!

2:

Limiting your colour palette to Earth tones. Colours like light browns, sierra, beige, greens (olive or sage), dark blues and greys stick to one specific theme which makes your interiors look more coherent. Recently, these have also been getting more and more attention from our customers, and we think these will only get more popular. They make the space more coherent which also means that it can easily blend together to make your home a more comfortable place filled with warmth! We have many of these colours available in our Save the Planet collection, so check them out! To add a bit of variety to these, you can also add a little bit of yellow or white to act as accent pieces, but I think sticking to a theme will beautifully transform your interiors

3:

Woven Fabric!! This type of fabric is coming back to the trends this year. It is often used for upholstery and furnishing, but it can also be used for cushion covers and many more! This type of fabric is a little bit thicker than velvets and cottons, but is nonetheless beautiful! There are a lot of different colours that it can have and it is given a more modern twist than two-three decades ago! Despite its age, woven fabric is making a comeback once again, and we think that matching it with different textures and colours will make it look homey and comfortable! These fabrics are also usually covered in a special, invisible layer that makes it easy to clean and helps avoid stains.

4:

Structured Velvet!! With the new year, traditional, standard velvet is slowly losing its place within the trends. The new version of it is definitely taking over, because of its intriguing nature! It is such a soft fabric, it’s practically perfect for pillow covers or upholstery! The different colours of it are now available quilted, or structured - it can be striped, with small structure or long pile velvet. This can also very easily be matched with other materials, and it will make your space so much more comfortable and fun!!

5:

Patterns, patterns, patterns!! Over the last year, we found that including different patterns into your interiors will make it feel more alive and fun! It doesn’t have to be a lot, maybe just a few details, such as throw pillows or seat covers, but a little goes a long way! There are lots of patterns that we know for sure will liven up your space, for example things like jungle-themed patterns, wild animals or art deco. They will also make your home more exciting and welcoming!

Our piece of advice is to have fun with these things. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to make our houses and apartments look stylish, but the most important thing is creating a space where you feel comfortable! These trends will probably not be for everyone but if you like the sound of any of them we encourage you to give it a go, be creative and remake your space! Good luck!
